Bio: AL ran XC in high school and college, but after watching the tour on TV decided that bikes were much more interesting. The previous few years Al had been a manager for a local candy company and was moving up the cycling ranks racing with the local NCC/BikeReg.com team. Last year Alec ran the NCC/BikerReg.com Cyclocross team (which sent 3 guys out to Worlds!) and realized coaching is where he wanted his day job to lead. This is when Al met up with coach Rick Crawford. Currently Al is pursuing the full-time coaching and racing lifestyle, coaching with Rick Crawford and has picked up the UMASS Cycling Team under his wing. Al has never been fully focused or on an organized team, so this year will be a great change. Rick gave Al a great perspective on training, and he is putting a lot more effort into riding this year. With Al's previous results, the organized team, and the additional perspective and focus he has this year, there won't be much room left on the top of the podium for many others.
