| Bio: Ian has been racing half of his life. After organizing school tours around Lake Champlain when he was 10 years old, he went on to race in local mountain bike scene. After breaking his mountain bike, and no money to buy a new one, he turned to the road for support and joined the local club, Green Mountain Bicycle Club. After a season with GMBC, Ian was picked up by the Massachusetts based Hot Tubes Cycling Team where he remained for the remainder of his junior career. Joining Jason Baer in 2000, Ian raced with the famous GS Mengoni team who raised such riders as George Hincapie, Matt Decanio, Jonathan Page, and Mike McCarthy to name a few successful professional riders. After a year away from the sport to focus on school, he picked up the Saturn colors in 2003 racing for their national development squad. A strong supporter of heart rate monitors and other training tools, Ian can be found at his computer making graphs of his daily rides and updating his online journal. Away from the bike, you can find him attending concerts, listening to music (his collection includes over 600 albums), or working on the computer. Ian is also interested in setting up more tour routes around the nation. | |
